Holding Firmly to the Good News
Series: Easter

We can hold firmly to the Good News, whether we face the challenges of tomorrow, yesterday, or this moment. Proverbs tells us to "be still and know that I am God." What a wonderful phrase to remind us of the good news that no matter what, God is with us NOW. May the assurance of Easter and the new life that it promises be a reality for us today.

    Out of Egypt
    Series: Lent
God has created this life for us. And even though we know that sinfulness and separation from God is a reality in this world, God reaches out to us with grace. God gives us opportunities, through relationship with him, to live an abundant life in the light, though we be surrounded by darkness. During this Lenten season, let us be aware of the darkness on the outside and on the inside. Let us lean upon God’s grace. Let us follow God’s instructions for this life. And let us give thanks to God for our salvation.

    Father Abraham
    Series: Lent
God wants to establish a covenant with us...a covenant of the heart. God’s covenant with us begins with God’s grace. God’s ultimate expression of love...giving everything including himself in sacrifice of that love. God asks us to join in covenant so that we too may experience and express God’s love. Let us be grateful for our new names and our new lives in covenant with our God.

    The Sign of our Covenant
    Series: Lent
God wants a better world for us. When we fail to help God accomplish this, the Bible tells us that God is “grieved.” But we also find in the Bible that God’s preference to facing the challenges of life is to establish relationship with us. Our relationship with God is the solution, our purpose, that for which we have been created. The reason for all of creation. Let us give ourselves fully to our Covenant with God and to love, the sign of our covenant.

    Eagle’s Wings
    Series: Epiphany

How do we define our life… our spiritual journey and our relationship with God? Do we see everything connected and full of purpose? Let us pray to see and to live what is truly matters... what is eternally significant.

    Speaking Gods Word
    Series: Epiphany

God is speaking to us. God has always made the effort to work with us and all our complications. God will continue to “raise up” prophetic voices “among us” who will “speak the word” of God for us to “follow.” Let us do all we can to listen. Let us expect the unexpected. Let us be prepared to deepen our relationship with God and to grow beyond what seem to be our limits of the present.

    Speak, Lord
    Series: Epiphany

God is speaking to us. Are we listening? In order for the cycle of any communication to be complete the speaker and hearer must do their parts. Let us do our best to know and understand the Holy Spirit, our great Communicator. Let us do our part to listen and receive the Word of God in our lives. And let us be open to whatever God life-giving word that God would like send to us, personally and as a corporate body.

    In the Beginning
    Series: Epiphany
As we begin a new year, a “year of invitation,” let us first prepare (and make room in) our hearts. Let’s remember that God is the first to invite us...to relationship, to love, to new life. Let’s consider that God’s invitation is for us to grow...together. It is through our changed lives that we are inspired to invite others to share in our own lives and in the love of the community that we are a part of. Let us ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to open our hearts and lives, to prepare room for Invitation. The invitation to share in something special together.

    Mary’s Song
    Series: Christmas

The song of Mary is a reminder that God has chosen not only to create the universe that we are a part of, but that God has chosen to come into our individual lives in a very special way. It is in this incarnation, that God’s love and mercy takes root in this world and brings about the re-creation of God’s Kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven.” This Christmas let’s remember that it’s not just the story of a baby born long ago, but the story of God’s spirit being born in each of our hearts...today.

    Waiting
    Series: Advent

We spend a lot of time waiting. Waiting for things to be complete. Waiting for what’s wrong to be made right. Waiting for God to DO something. But the Bible tells us that God’s “waiting” is NOT LIKE our “waiting.” God’s time is not like our time. God’s ways are not our ways. As we wait for new heavens and a new earth (in our lives), let us be at peace with our Saviour. Let us hold fast to the wholeness of God’s righteousness (God’s Kingdom at work) in our lives. And let us experience the patience of knowing that the Lord IS our salvation.
