Many in this City
Series: Advent
Let us recognize, like Silas and Timothy, that there are many in this city who are God’s people. Let’s be open to listen to others so that others may listen to us. Let’s not be afraid. Let’s speak up. And let us be forever grateful that God is with us. LISTEN to Sunday's Sermon "Many in this City"

Luke 2 tells us, "As the angel choir withdrew into heaven, the sheepherders talked it over. 'Let’s get over to Bethlehem as fast as we can and see for ourselves what God has revealed to us.' They left, running, and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. Seeing was believing. They told everyone they met what the angels had said about this child. All who heard the sheepherders were impressed." LISTEN to Sunday's Sermon by Faith Youth, Brandon Burford: "First to Know"

    That’s Unexpected
    Series: Advent
Like Paul and Silas, let’s carry the joyful song of God with us wherever we go, let’s not forget that though life may not feel that great at times...life is still amazingly wonderful, let’s remember that adversity can bring the miracle of new life, let’s not assume what’s going on in people’s lives but remember that we can know for sure the Holy Spirit is hard at work, and let’s hold fast to the unstoppable, miraculous, life-changing Good News...because it’s worth it! What the Heck?
    Series: Advent
As Saul neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”  Saul asked, “Who are you, Lord?” He replied, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” LISTEN to Sunday's Sermon with Pastor Joy Geldart "What the Heck?"

    Expect the Unexpected
    Series: Advent
The story of Christmas is not only about the Christ-child. It is also about those who experienced his coming and worshiped in his presence. All of us today could be represented in those early followers of the Messiah, the Christ. We see day laborers, intellectuals, family members, and heavenly beings, all inspired by the surprising work of God in their lives and their world. How will God’s presence surprise you this Christmas?  Click below to LISTEN to a song from the Faith Kidz Christmas program, a short Kidz sermon, and words for the adults too about the Nativity.

    Are We Pure?
    Series: Advent
God promises that he is coming (Advent means "coming") into our lives. God’s messengers let us know that God’s advent may not be what we expect...or can handle. Jesus, the Messiah, the coming one, wants us to be cleansed, changed, and transformed with his presence. Let’s be open to his life-giving, cleansing touch that will let us know that he is indeed here with us!

    Are We Righteous?
    Series: Advent
Advent means that God comes to us in Jesus because God wants to do something for us that we could never do for ourselves. God wants to be “our righteousness.” Yes, we should be righteous. We should do the right thing. But it’s probably best to say that this most righteous thing we could ever do is to trust in God’s righteousness.

    Waiting
    Series: Advent

We spend a lot of time waiting. Waiting for things to be complete. Waiting for what’s wrong to be made right. Waiting for God to DO something. But the Bible tells us that God’s “waiting” is NOT LIKE our “waiting.” God’s time is not like our time. God’s ways are not our ways. As we wait for new heavens and a new earth (in our lives), let us be at peace with our Saviour. Let us hold fast to the wholeness of God’s righteousness (God’s Kingdom at work) in our lives. And let us experience the patience of knowing that the Lord IS our salvation.

    Keep Awake
    Series: Advent

Advent, or the “coming” of Christ, is about our relationship with God. God wants to be “with us” and wants us to be “awake” and aware of that He is doing in and around us. Let us trust that when it seems our world is ending, it’s because a new one is already beginning. Let us have faith that even though we don’t know how or when God is coming into our lives, we can rest asured that He is already at work and that He promises to finish what He started.
